Bio
Carmen has been an intern at Strategikon sincer May 2016, primarily focusing on research on Romania’s development in the last decade, especially on 2016 elections and good governance. Her main interest remain in the social sphere, including here policies for education, social inclusion and sustainable development.
She continues to stay as involved and informed as possible on EU’s affairs and the International Relations scene by attending conferences such as : European Youth Event, where her primary interests were youth unemployment and combating poverty and VIMUN – Vienna International Model United Nation when she got the chance to discuss and debate real issues with students and young professionals from different countries and with different backgrounds. She is committed and engaged into her home country’s affairs as well, especially in the NGOs sector by being a volunteer for the Foundation for an Open Society and different events at Aspen Institute and the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
Currently she is studying at Trieste University with an Erasmus Scholarship where she has started developing her knowledge in sociology by taking classes in sociology of migration and political sociology and plans to continue her research in these fields.
The milestone in choosing her academic path developed in 2010, after attending a Model International Criminal Court (MICC) in Krzy?owa, Poland. Ever since, she continued to develop her knowledge and interest in international relations, humanitarian aid and post-conflict development.
After one year of studying Law in Cluj Napoca, she decided to pursue another bachelor in International Relations, at the University of Bucharest. She continued to gather professional experience through various internships at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Relations Report and U.S Embassy.
After her bachelor studies in International Relations and European Studies at University of Bucharest, Carmen has decided to go into more depth with her development studies, continuing with a master’s degree in Development, International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid at the National School of Political Science and Public Administration.
